When it comes to materials testing, quality assurance is essential for ensuring the safety, reliability,…
PONTICELLI Angoil recently completed a Subsea Structure Fabrication project called Dalia Phase 3. One Eighty was responsible for all the Welding procedure qualification records.
The goal of the project was to add 6 new oil producer wells to the existing Dalia field well system, which has been in production since December 2006. The project was undertaken with TechnipFMC for Total E&P Angola who are the end user.
The scope of PONTICELLI Angoil, the fabricator, was to fabricate a set of permanent subsea structures, one rigid spool manufactured from Duplex Stainless steel, and a PLEM assembly. Further smaller pieces of equipment were also fabricated within the scope: various small equipment components, transportation stands, spreader bars and grillages.
One Eighty Materials Testing (Pty) Ltd was responsible for mechanical testing of all the necessary welding procedure qualification records (WPQRs) for PONTICELLI Angoil’s scope of work, which included: carbon steel coupons, duplex stainless steel coupons, and Inconel clad coupons. Testing for the WPQR’s required ASTM G48 and G28 Corrosion testing in the case of the Inconel clad (Nickel based alloy clad on to carbon steel) coupons.
One Eighty Materials Testing (Pty) Ltd is ISO 17025:2017 for all the necessary testing on these materials for WPQR’s and 3.2 Inspections. Based on the Southern tip of Africa in Cape Town, One Eighty are uniquely positioned to assist fabricators in Africa with all of the metallurgical testing requirements.
One Eighty is a world class organisation known for their reliability, integrity and effectiveness to provide commercial solutions on time for the project.
