Silver Safe Advanced Apparel
This project involves investigation of the possible market for silver infused sports gear, particularly endurance sports such as offshore sailing, hiking and mountaineering but not limited to these sports. The method of silver infusion has been developed but requires testing to demonstrate antibacterial and antiviral properties, durability in terms of washes and exposure to elements. |

As we assign students to the projects this will be indicated on the right hand side and whether there is still availability to participate in the project. Your assignment will be determined by your application.
We provide 6 months in service training to candidates with who wish to achieve a National Diploma in Engineering and require the in service training to qualify. We currently take on four students per 6 months. Our next in take is in January 2025.
Should you take on in service training with One Eighty you will be required to learn all the test methods in the laboratory within the first 3 months and then will participate constructively with the work flow of the laboratory.

In the last 4 years we have hosted over 8 international students for their required 17 weeks in service training. International students can also be allocated the current projects available for University In Service Training or they can participate in the laboratory. Nicky is an agent who will handle all the arrangements to come to South Africa and we have worked extensively with her for the past 4 years.
Inès Baroudi is a chemical engineering student from France who worked with us, getting some valuable practical materials engineering experience. We loved having her with us as a valuable member of our team and we look forward to seeing great achievements from this bright young engineer!
