How long have you worked at One Eighty?
I started in working at One Eighty in January 2024
What is your current role and what does that entail?
I am currently a Junior Consulting Engineer at One Eighty, where I am gaining expertise in performing a comprehensive range of metallurgical and materials engineering test services. My responsibilities include testing, reporting and interpreting test results, as well as assisting consulting engineers in conducting root cause failure analysis.
What do you love most about working for One Eighty?
What I appreciate most about my job is the variety it offers. In school, I had broad interests and wanted to explore everything. I am grateful to have a job that allows me to work on theoretical problems and practically apply them to real-life situations, making each day different from the last. One Eighty provides a stimulating environment that challenges me daily, and I am fortunate to share these experiences with amazing colleagues, managers, and seniors who encourage and push me to become the best version of myself.
What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?
I try to stay as active as possible, often through exercise, particularly running, which helps clear my mind. The physical activity fuels my passion for cooking and baking, and I always look forward to the end of the day when I can try a new recipe I found online or bake something to share with friends and family. Additionally, I have a deep love for reading, and one of my life goals is to build my own personal library
Where do you see your future in materials engineering?
I am very interested in pursuing postgraduate studies and potentially a career in research and development. However, my experience at One Eighty has also made consulting an attractive option. Ideally, I would like to incorporate R&D into my work at One Eighty.
What inspires you?
For me, it’s about finding joy in every problem and challenge I encounter while embracing the variety life has to offer. I believe that growing and learning something new each day is a satisfying way to live and sharing these daily achievements with loved ones brings immense fulfillment. I eagerly anticipate the novelty of what tomorrow might bring and the new experiences I’ll get to enjoy.
