The DTI Visits One Eighty

Mr Masizakhe Zimela and Ramona Muthan (seen above with Collins) both of the Department of Trade and Industry came to visit One Eighty’s state of the art testing facility on 28 October 2015.

Top Left Hand Corner: Bubele talks them through the use of the hardness tester; Top Right Hand Corner: Dr Janet Cotton shows the microstructure of a piece of duplex stainless steel; Bottom Left Hand Corner: Dr Janet Cotton explains the need for machining samples to very specific standards in the Workshop; Bottom Left Hand Corner: Mehluleli explains why it is necessary to prepare samples well before examining the weld under the microscope.

Both Mr Zimela and Ramona left with a much better understanding of what is being done in the testing labs and the workshop while also getting to know the Team behind One Eighty.
