One Eighty’s Fabrication specialist
Both ISO 3834-2, which applies to the fusion welding of metallic materials, and EN 15085-2, which applies to the welding of railway vehicles and components, require the registered company to have a welding coordinator who is qualified and capable of supporting and certifying their welding operations. The Head of One Eighty’s Welding Engineering department, Jan-Paul Koorts, plays this role professionally through an integrated relationship with One Eighty’s partners. After completing his Honours Degree in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Pretoria, Jan-Paul pursued his passion for welding and became a fully qualified international welding engineer in 2013 (ZA/IWE/00027). In addition to his qualifications, Jan-Paul brought six years of practical experience in the specialist field of welding engineering when he joined the One Eighty team in 2016. With One Eighty’s class leading material testing lab as his support, Jan-Paul has since made a noticeably positive impact across the many sectors which he services.
