We get involved in a wide range of industries such as primary manufacturers of sheet metal (Hulett Aluminium) and producers of racing yacht sails (Halsey Lidgard USA). Of particular interest is the development of new orthopaedic implants like the total disc replacement and other spinal intervention products. One Eighty, through the subsidiary 6º of Freedom, has assisted companies locally (Southern Medical) and abroad (Aesculap) with the development of new and existing products.
Through our association with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, One Eighty has helped set up an advanced materials testing centre where we do most of our experimental work. We also have a good network base of academic institutions and laboratories that can help with a wide range of tests that we need for research and development.
We also get involved with failure investigations for loss adjusters or surveyors and are regularly asked to act as expert witnesses on legal cases for firms like Bowman Gilfilian.
